Guidance

Academic excellence is successfully achieved through a full support programme of tuition funding, study skills support, and counselling for the full 12+ years each scholar is on the programme.

A budget is also allocated towards books and stationery as well as access to the IT Lab as part of the Microsoft Schools Training partnership.

The focus of our teaching style is to develop the learners’ entrepreneurial mindset. Our private Education Centre aims to creates entrepreneurs that are job creators and not job seekers. Ed-U College Port Elizabeth is part of the Entrepreneurship Institute – a global entrepreneurial education group as well as being appointed as the only Microsoft Partner in the Eastern Cape.

Career development is an early intervention starting in Grade 9 with subject choice. In Grade 11 and 12 this takes the form of career guidance. This process serves to guide the scholars towards a fitting area of study for their tertiary education.

Both subject choice for Grade 9’s and career guidance for Grade 11’s and 12’s begins with scholastic assessments. The information drawn from the assessments and corresponding recommendations are openly discussed in an individual feedback session with a qualified professional. Together with the scholar, and in conjunction with school results, we look at aptitude, personality, interests and values when exploring several options. Career development is a facilitative and continual process between the scholar, their coordinator, and the relevant professionals.

GeniusU is a self-development programme which guides each individual to discover their values, passions, and purpose aligned with the 17 United Nations sustainable development goals, ie, from ending poverty, to greater equality to protecting the environment.

The Passion test is the world’s number one tool for finding your passions and life purpose and begin really living them.

GeniusU connects your passions with your natural talents.

Individuals gain an overview of the tools and resources available to them to learn to use their own talents to live their best life and connect to a global community of scholars.
